Colombia Huila Pitalito

Process: Washed | Grade: Supremo
Tasting Notes: Milk chocolate, caramel, roasted almond, with a light floral lift

Grown in the highlands surrounding Pitalito, Huila, the largest coffee-producing municipality in Colombia, this Supremo-grade lot is sourced from small, family-owned farms sitting between 1,500-1,900 meters. The washed process brings out a clean, chocolatey sweetness with a smooth caramel body and just enough floral aromatics to keep it interesting.

Huila sits at the foot of the Andes along the Magdalena River Valley, where volcanic soil, steady rainfall, and high elevation give the coffee its signature profile: rich fruit and caramel notes carried by a sweet, gentle acidity. Pitalito itself has taken home Colombia's Cup of Excellence more than once, and it's easy to taste why -- the beans develop slowly in the cool mountain air, coming out deeply flavorful without ever tipping into sharp or overly bright.

Each cup opens with milk chocolate and caramel, settles into roasted almond, and finishes clean with a whisper of florals underneath. Medium body, medium acidity, balanced enough for an easy daily pour-over, rich enough to hold its own as espresso.

If you liked our other Colombian offerings, Pitalito Supremo is the one that leans a little more toward nutty and chocolatey than fruity...  a great "house coffee" pick for people who want something reliably smooth without losing complexity.
