High in western Uganda, along the legendary Rwenzori Mountains, often called the "Mountains of the Moon," coffee grows in a landscape shaped by elevation, rich soils, abundant rainfall, and generations of smallholder farming.

Our Uganda Rwenzori Natural comes from this remarkable coffee-growing region, where coffee is an important part of both the land and the communities that call it home. Small farms here, many tucked near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, grow coffee alongside other crops as a vital source of income for their households.

What makes this coffee especially interesting is the way it's processed. Unlike washed coffees, the natural process allows the freshly harvested coffee cherries to dry with the fruit still surrounding the bean. As the coffee slowly dries, some of the fruit's natural sugars and character influence the seed inside, often creating a cup that's sweeter, fuller, and more fruit-forward. In this lot, that shows up as notes of blueberry and plum layered over a brown sugar sweetness, rounding out into a jammy, almost wine-like finish.

We carefully roast to highlight that natural sweetness while still creating the rich, smooth, approachable cup we want our coffees to be known for.

The result is a coffee with plenty of character... the kind of cup that reminds you just how different coffees from around the world can be. It's rich enough for the everyday coffee drinker, yet distinctive enough for someone who wants to slow down and discover what makes a single-origin coffee special.
